Number of Years in Business: 2 years
What made you start your own business? With my background in Fashion photography I was getting a lot of friends who are models, directors, stylists, and people in the art industry wanting me to shoot their nuptials. Then of course all kinds of brides began to reach out. Marrying the two styles (fashion editorial with a candid photo journalistic approach) came about naturally, and I am told is what distinctly sets Art Haus Foto apart. Also, I am deeply inspired by love.
If you had to start over what one thing would you do differently? Absolutely nothing. Everything arrived quite organically and at a wonderful pace through word of mouth, as I choose to do a specific and limited amount of weddings a year.
What’s your favorite, can’t-work-with-out, item? The love of my life, my 5D Mark II
What is the best piece of business advice you’ve ever received? Make them happy.
Which two people (past or present) would you like to meet over coffee and why? Alec Baldwin, I find him terribly funny, intelligent and entertaining… though I imagine I’d have coffee coming through my nose most of it. My second choice is American essayist Fran Lebowitz, for most of the same reasons too.
In five words how would you sum up your personality, style, company brand? Art-inspired, personable, with a sartorial twist.
What would you like your clients to come away saying about you? I love, love, LOVE my photos, and I feel like I made a new friend.
What do you think makes for a great wedding? I always say it doesn’t matter how much you spend, where its held, who your dress is by, or how many people are there or not there. When a couple is happy, focused on each other and dancing away despite hiccups, big or small, it’s inspiring.
